15-25 Mai, 2023
Vaulnaveys-le-Bas, France
The aime of the project was to develop competences of 24 youth workers from 8 countries to organize and lead international youth projects in a more environmentally-friendly way, to be able to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage eco-friendly habits not only among the youth from their organisations, but also their families and communities.
The project was held in Vaulnaveys-le-bas, a small commune next to Grenoble, from 15 to 25 May.
-> Train 24 youth workers to organize sustainable and eco-friendly outdoor activities during international youth projects.
-> Teach them to use non-formal learning methods to educate young people about sustainable living and encourage them to adopt eco-friendly habits by the end of the project.
-> Foster solidarity and intercultural dialogue among the participating youth workers from 8 countries and encourage them to work together to find solutions to their community issues.
The project "ECO friendly in outdoor activities" successfully trained 24 youth workers in organizing sustainable and eco-friendly outdoor activities during international youth projects. These youth workers received comprehensive training on various aspects of sustainability, including eco-friendly practices, waste management, garbage selection, renewable energy, conservation, green travel...
The project focused on teaching the participating youth workers to use non-formal learning methods to educate young people about sustainable living. They were equipped with innovative and interactive approaches to engage young participants in discussions, workshops, and practical activities that promote eco-friendly habits. These methods included group discussions, team-building exercises, role-playing, and hands-on learning experiences.
Through the efforts of our trainers, the project successfully encouraged youth workers to adopt eco-friendly habits by the end of the project. The youth workers organized awareness campaigns, workshops, and outdoor activities that emphasized the importance of sustainable living. They provided practical tips and information on reducing waste, conserving energy, recycling, and making environmentally conscious choices.
The project fostered solidarity and intercultural dialogue among the participating youth workers from eight countries. By working together on common goals related to sustainability, the youth workers developed a sense of shared purpose and understanding. They exchanged ideas, experiences, and cultural perspectives, which led to a stronger bond and a deeper appreciation for diversity.
The project encouraged the participating youth workers to collaborate and find solutions to their community issues. By leveraging their newly acquired knowledge and skills, the youth workers initiated local projects aimed at addressing environmental challenges in their respective communities. These projects ranged from community clean-ups and tree planting initiatives to awareness campaigns and sustainable development workshops.
Overall, the project successfully achieved its objectives of training youth workers, promoting non-formal learning methods, fostering intercultural dialogue, and encouraging eco-friendly habits among young people. It empowered the youth workers to become effective agents of change in their communities, promoting sustainable living and environmental consciousness.
During our mobility we had also an amazing visit to the Department of International Relations at the City Hall of Grenoble with our 24 participants and 2 trainers.
During our visit, we had the privilege of meeting the representatives of the City Hall and the department’s director. They warmly welcomed us and Emmanuel Lefloch, the director of the department, shared the fascinating history of the department, giving us an exclusive tour of its various halls. 🏛️
The objective of this study visit was to foster our participants’ active citizenship and encourage their interaction with the locals and local authorities. The meeting at the City Hall was an incredible opportunity to develop their spirit of initiative and learn about governance firsthand. 💡
After the meeting, our participants got to explore the beautiful city of Grenoble and witness its innovative and green initiatives in action. 🌍 From sustainable transportation systems to eco-friendly infrastructure, Grenoble has truly set an inspiring example for other cities.
